Ester: Today I’m interviewing Karin Shah. Karin, what made you decide to take the plunge and become a writer?
Karin: I don’t think I ever really decided, just let characters drag me out of reality all the time. I just gave in after a while.
Ester: How long have you been writing professionally?
Karin: Ten years.
Ester: And what do you do for fun when you are not writing?
Karin: I love movies, and reading, playing with my kids and dogs.
Ester: Kids and dogs are enough to keep anyone busy. Do you write full-time or part-time?
Karin: Theoretically, I write full-time, but since my kids are six and four and they’re home most of the time…
Ester: That says it all right there. Where do you reside?
Karin: Columbus, Ohio.
Ester: Tell us about your latest release/releases, for instance, a back page blurb.
Karin: My latest release is STARJACKED, published by Samhain. I’m currently working on revising the prequel to it called STARSTRUCK. The blurb for STARJACKED is:
With the fate of the galaxy at risk, love may not be enough…
In the lawless fringes of deep space, pirate Tia Sen has a rep for being hard as plascrete, tough as Amalan leather, and as strong as she is beautiful. She also has a secret that courts death: For years she has been freeing enslaved children. Stepping in to rescue a valiant mechanic from a near-fatal beating risks more than her life. Thanks to her traitorous heart, her web of lies is in danger of unraveling.
Undercover operative Rork Al’ Ren is no stranger to lies. Emotionally scarred by the murders of his wife and unborn child, he wants nothing more than to eradicate every bit of pirate scum in the galaxy. Then his mission goes sour, and he finds himself Tia’s personal slave-and falling in love with the very pirate he’s sworn to destroy.
Yet love is a luxury he can’t afford. Tia possesses a powerful new weapon that could overwhelm the Union of Planets and plunge the galaxy into war.
If Rork can’t convince her to surrender it, he may have to break her trust-and her heart.
Ester: Now that sounds interesting. I love sci-fi romance! Do you have any appearances or book signings scheduled this year?
Karin: Not at this time.
Ester: How about any advice for aspiring writers like me?
Karin: Keep writing, reading in your genre and submitting! Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to study your craft.
Ester: Thanks, Karin. Could you give us a website before you leave?
Karin: My website is: www.Karinshah.com, and you can check out my book at:
Ester: Thanks, Karin. I look forward to reading your book.
