Ester: Today I’m speaking with Cynthia Eden. Thanks Cynthia, for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions for me. First of all, how long have you been writing?
Cynthia: I’ve been a full-time writer for just over a year now. Before that, I worked around my day job (sneaking in late nights and weekend writing time).
Ester: That sounds like what I’m doing now. What made you decide to become a writer in the first place?
Cynthia: I became a writer because I love books–always have. I knew growing up that I wanted to write. I just had to wait for life to settle down enough for me to follow my dream.
Ester: Cynthia, what do you do for fun when you aren’t writing?
Cynthia: When I’m not chasing my three-year-old, I love to watch movies–really, really bad horror movies.
Ester: Tell us about your latest release/releases.
Cynthia: I’d be happy to. Here’s the blurb for IMMORTAL DANGER, which was just released in March.
BEING BULLET PROOF SUCKS–LITERALLY
Once Maya Black was a kick-ass cop patrolling the streets of L.A. She still keeps the city safe, but nowadays her bad guys of choice include demons, werewolves, and assorted nocturnal scum. Something Maya knows a thing or two about. She’s a vampire–and not thrilled about it. Payback meet bitch.
Adam Brody hopes Maya is as dangerous as they say she is. He needs her to help rescue his niece Cammie from a ruthless band of vamps, and he’s willing to pay–in blood. Trusting her is another matter. Adam has never met a vampire who doesn’t lie. Then again, he’s never met anyone like Maya, who fills him with a desperate need that ignites into explosive, no-holds-barred encounters…
Ester: That sounds like my kind of book. I like books with cops or ex-police officers. And you have another book coming out, don’t you?
Cynthia: In July, MIDNIGHT’S MASTER, the third book in my MIDNIGHT trilogy will also be released by Kensington Brava.
Cynthia: I’m currently working on a romantic suspense series for Grand Central Publishing. These books are centered around the SSD-the Serial Services Division in the FBI. The SSD is an elite unit that tracks and apprehends serials (killers, arsonists, rapists). I’m working on the second book–my heroine is a firefighter and the hero is a straight-laced FBI agent who is tracking an arsonist. The arsonist is deliberately staging fires to trap firefighters.
Ester: That sounds interesting. Do you have any appearances/book signings scheduled this year? If so, where are they?
Cynthia: I just attended the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in April. I took part in the HUGE author signing.
Ester: Yes, I was there! The room was packed with authors. That’s a booklovers dream. Can you leave us with a website so we can keep up with your latest releases?
Cynthia: Folks are welcome to visit me on my website at: www.cynthiaeden.com. I also have a blog up and running: www.cynthiaeden.com/blog.
Ester: Thank you, Cynthia, for spending time with me. Cynthia resides in the deep south in Alabama, along the Gulf Coast, where she enjoys beautiful summers (with the threat of hurricanes).
Cynthia: Thank you, Ester, for the interview. It was a pleasure.
